Can TUFF-BILT lattice be hung horizontally?
Horizontal usage of TUFF-BILT lattice is not recommended--except with TUFF-BILT Dimensions Garden Weave lattice. To install, we recommend 12-16 inches on center (o.c.) spacing of framing with the Garden Weave lattice to prevent sagging.
Do you manufacture any lattice styles without holes?
No--all our lattice styles have open weave designs (square or diamond).
Does TUFF-BILT offer any lattice styles with larger openings?
Our lattice styles offer a variety of opening sizes:
2-3/4 in. - Regular Diamond
2 in. - Garden Weave
1-3/4 in. - Privacy Square
1-1/16 in. - Privacy Diamond
Can TUFF-BILT lattice be glued?
No, glue will not adhere to polyethylene.
Can TUFF-BILT lattice be painted?
Painting is not recommended for TUFF-BILT lattice; the paint will peel after a period of time (anywhere from a few weeks to a few months).
How do you keep TUFF-BILT lattice from wobbling when creating a continuous line?
The lattice should be attached to vertical wood posts (4 x 4) or possibly metal posts. Across the top and bottom, the lattice may be attached to something such as a board (2 x 2) or be framed in. The lattice is not designed to stand alone without support. TUFF-BILT also offers Cap and Divider Moldings which may be used to frame in the lattice attach to the post and frame.
Does TUFF-BILT offer plastic screws the same color as the lattice?
At present, we do not. We recommend that you use #8 stainless steel metal screws. Pre drill with a 1/4" drill bit. Place screws through the cap and divider moldings only.
Do you offer plastic corner moldings?
We do not offer corner moldings. However, you may use the cap moldings on the panel edges and butt them at 90 degrees.
Do you make molding that would hold two pieces of lattice at a 90 degree angle?
We do not offer a 90 degree molding. However, you can make your own wood molding by routing at a 90 degree angle, OR fasten two TUFF-BILT cap moldings together at 90 degrees with screws.
Is TUFF-BILT lattice fire rated?
No, but we have a fire test sheet available.
What is the impact strength of TUFF-BILT lattice?
It is a decorative product designed to be self-supportive and self-sustaining. It will absorb mild impacts, but may break under severe impact.
Is TUFF-BILT lattice made out of recycled material?
No, we utilize no post-consumer recyclable material.
Is there a cleaner recommended for safely cleaning TUFF-BILT plastic products?
Water and household cleaner. Do not use cleaners containing bleach, as it might fade darker colors.
Does TUFF-BILT trellis need support?
Yes. It should be attached to a wall or post. If it is to be free standing, you need to bury the trellis 1 foot into the ground and attach it to a metal rod or wood post that supports the full length of the trellis.
